About Us

About The Carmel Sertoma Club of Carmel, Inc., Indiana, Children's TherAplay Foundation

The mission of Sertoma Club of Carmel is to help children in need in the Carmel community, through hosting fundraising events, volunteering and providing a forum for non-profits to inform and educate our membership through speaking engagements. Our members believe in working to serve mankind with time and talents not just dollars while enjoying each other's company and developing life-long friends.

The Sertoma Club of Carmel, Inc. was chartered on February 3rd, 2007 with 40 initial members. We are a part of an International Organization of over 600 Clubs and some 22,000 members. The Sertoma Club of Carmel performs tasks in the community to raise funds to donate to our Sponsor, The Children's TherAplay Foundation.

The Children's TherAplay Foundation (TherAplay) is a unique outpatient rehabilitation clinic for children with special needs.

  • Their talented team incorporates the movement of horses into physical and occupational therapy sessions.

  • Their mission is to provide children who have special needs a foundation for developing life skills through innovative therapies in a safe and caring environment, including equine-assisted physical and occupational therapy.

  • TherAplay also offers adaptive horseback riding lessons for children who may not be appropriate for their therapy services but would enjoy and benefit from horseback riding as a recreational activity.
